Now that the fall season is in full swing and Halloween is just around the corner, we have a spooky simulation and some MAJOR tech updates to share. Take a look 🔎...
Ingrid Cloud's new solver is up and running! We've completely rewritten our Computational Fluid Dynamics solver- offering a more robust, feature-rich and better-performing solver, ready to efficiently make use of recent hardware developments.
"It is a new generation solver with several years of work behind it. It will improve our core technology on many levels, and early tests and benchmarks show huge performance improvements! This new generation solver will probably secure Ingrid Cloud as the the most powerful LES technology in the world for many years to come."
- Sebastian Desand, CEO
By popular demand, we're adding trees to the Wind Comfort app! When setting up a simulation in the Ingrid Cloud platform, users will now be able to analyse wind mitigation with trees.
"We know that many urban designers need to consider the impact of trees as a wind mitigation tool. We also know that dealing with vegetation in a virtual wind tunnel is a complex matter with little research to back it up. But despite all the difficulties, we are confident that we have developed a simple, yet powerful feature for our users."
- Jeannette Spühler, Ph.D Simulation Engineer

This month, we released a short video series on various interesting topics related to CFD-code validation, High Performance Computing and more! Watch them here 🎥 :
It's settling in as a tradition at Ingrid Cloud that Halloween 🎃 marks the time for testing the aerodynamics of "spooky things". Last year we placed a witch and her broom in the wind tunnel (see it here), and this year we analysed the aerodynamic performance of a bat:
In Sweden 🇸🇪 we turned the clocks back an hour. Did you? As the days seem to get shorter, we hope you can still find the time to practise some self-care, whether it's reading a new book or taking in the fresh air 🍃.
Until next time!
